During
the last 10 years, Arabian Dance has obtained more and more
attention in the Western world.
Today, it is taught in large and small cities in Europe and
America. But far too often, long-lived misunderstanding about
the character of the dance remain uncorrected. Therefore,
the Oriental Dance (Raks Sharki) in Europe and America is
mostly described as belly dance, but seldom accepted as a
form of artistic expression. Often this form of dance is presented
in a way that lies between animation and a kitchy and idealized
picture of the Orient. |
 |
| For
me, Oriental Dance was mainly a journey in search of my roots
and origin. During the last years, my passion for the Oriental
Dance has developed into a profession. |
 |
| I was born in Berlin, I live and work here. A city where many different cultures meet and merge into each other. This also influences my art and the dance. Therefore variations of the Oriental Dance are developing in combination with different styles of music an dance.
